The TL-ASSU220P5 heat pump soft starter is a soft start controller for compressors and electric motors used in:

• heat pumps;
• chillere;
• air conditioning systems;
• 220V single-phase HVAC equipment.

The softstarter offers an effective solution for reducing the starting current, limiting its values ​​to approximately 70%, while maintaining the full torque required to start the compressor.

Operating principle

When starting compressors in heat pumps, chillers or air conditioners, the starting current can exceed 7–8 times the rated current, and the starting torque can be up to 3 times higher than the normal operating torque.

These overloads cause:

• accelerated mechanical wear;
• vibrations and shocks on the compressor;
